Hello! Or should that be Hola?
I can never get that straight! At any rate, we head out from Tucson on September 12 to my wonderful sister Kitty in Buena Park, California. Kitty will be putting us up for the night, and then, most graciously, taking us to LAX VERY early on the morning of the 13th. We're scheduled to go non-stop from LAX to Mexico City -- it's about 4 hours. Our thinking is that, with air travel as it has been lately, we'd rather not deal with changing planes in Houston. This way, we can see my sister both coming and going, AND not have to deal with two flights each way. Yeah!!!
We will be in Mexico City twice -- for six nights at the beginning of our trip -- then a quick 4-nights in Oaxaca (yes, surprisingly, we're going to give it another cry!) and then four more nights on our way out of town. (That's really because, while we are Hilton loyalists - thank you again, Hilary! - ever since our last trip I have wanted to stay at the Gran Hotel Cuidad de Mexico, which is right on the Zocalo (main square), Mexico City! It has an absolutely stunning, Tiffany glass ceiling, and as I'm a Tiffany-glass-ceiling fan -- well, just have to see it!
I (of course) have a full schedule of things-to-see and do; lots of archaeology sites and museums, as well as two separate Airbnb Experiences that we'll be doing. The first involves a trip to the southern Mexico City suburb of Xochimilco, and the second, a shopping and cooking class fairly close to where we're staying! I'm very much looking forward to them!
So, for now -- and for our dear friend Stew -- Robert has made a very simple map of where we'll be going, which I posted above! Setting up the blog in the first place always requires the assistance of my good friend and Blog Master Extraordinaire Katy Zappala -- Thank you, Katy -- or I'd NEVER get off the ground!
Our blog address is: https://brucatosgotomexico2022.blogspot.com if you'd like to see it as it's posted, or I will be sending it via email as well, as many folks seem to like that! So -- hoping that you join us, and looking forward to your comments and suggestions as we go along!
For now, Adios!
Much love,
m
